* The Center invites original book-length manuscripts for publication in the Center's book series with Orbis Books. Manuscripts should be exclusively on U.S. Latino/a religion. All academic disciplines and all scholars are invited (although U.S. Latinos/as are specially encouraged to submit manuscripts). * Orbis Books and the Center for the Study of Latino/a Catholicism have established a book series. To be included in this series are all volumes resulting from research projects sponsored by the Center.* In 2003 the Center received the prestigious "ACHTUS Award" from the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States for its contributions to U.S. Latino/a theology. * The Catholic Theological Union (Chicago) has announced that its 2007 honorary doctorate in theology will be conferred on Dr. Orlando Espin, CSLC director, at the CTU's commencement ceremonies on May 17, 2007.

1. The Institute of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry at Boston College is renewing its commitment to the service of the growing Latino/a Catholic community in the United States. Beginning in the fall of 2005 the IREPM offers a Master's degree in Pastoral Ministry with concentration in Hispanic Ministry and a one-year academic Certificate in Hispanic Ministry. Students accepted in any of these programs are guaranteed at least 70% of tuition remission –possibly 100%. For the Certificate program, a number of students without an earned bachelor's degree are accepted under particular conditions (see website). Master's students have the option of completing all their studies in the Boston area or take advantage of our partnership with the Mexican American Cultural Center . Students at the IREPM not only benefit from the academic wealth of nine of the finest faculties of theology and ministry in the region, but also will be immersed in the life of the vibrant Latino/a Catholic communities in the Northeast. 2. The Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States (ACHTUS) announces its 19th annual colloquium to be held in Los Angeles, June 3-6, 2007. The general theme: "Constructing a Latino/a Ecumenical Theology." Protestant and Catholic scholars have been invited to attend.
