Ben comes to the University of San Diego from a broad background including technical direction, lighting, carpentry, and stage management. He began his career in the Chicago area Theatre and Dance community, after receiving his BA from Barat College of Depaul University in Lake Forest, IL. His move to San Diego in early 2002 landed him at the Old Globe Theatres as a carpenter. Since that time he has worked with The Old Globe, the San Diego Repertory Theatre, and the La Jolla Playhouse around town, and spent over a year and a half with the Aqula Theatre Company, based in New York City, touring the United States as their technical director, under a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Since returning to San Diego he has enjoyed working with The Old Globe, both running shows and building them.
