- If cast, you must be available for ALL scheduled rehearsals. Depending on your role, the commitment could be 1-6 days per week, 1-4 hours per day/night during the week, 1-5 hours on weekends. Rehearsals will be evenings Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday/Sunday 12 PM to 5 PM. It is not possible to cast you if you are taking evening classes. Obviously, you must not have any conflicts during the performance dates of PICASSO October 22-25 and FIRST LADY SUITE December 11-14. All actors are required to participate in strike on the final day of the performances or as scheduled.
- Theatre experience is not required to audition.
- It is possible to be cast in both productions.
- Scripts available to read in the Theatre office only.
- Specifics for each audition below:
FIRST LADY SUITE Audition Information
Please prepare 2 short (30 second) contemporary monologues - 1 comedic, 1 dramatic, and 16 - 32 bars of music preferably something post 1970, e.g. Sondheim, Adam Guettel, Jason Robert Brown, etc. It would be ideal if auditioners could sing something by LaChuisa- given that he has such a unique style and the musical director will need to see how auditioners handle it. Definitely no Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe, or anything of that nature. Please have complete song prepared but know the auditioner’s may stop you after 16-32 bars.
For questions regarding FIRST LADY SUITE contact Carrie Klewin at 443-622-5859/carrieklewin@gmail.com.
