SUPPORT TBI . . .
TBI Endowment:
The University of San Diego is a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status, meaning that donations to the Trans-Border Institute are tax deductible. In conjunction with the University’s 2004-2005 capital campaign, TBI is seeking private donations to support its basic operation and expand its programs to better serve the University and the border community as a resource for academic and policy-relevant analysis and a forum for public dialogue about key issues affecting the U.S.-Mexican border. Over the next ten years, TBI hopes to build an endowment of $5-10 million. This endowment will be used to expand TBI’s staff and operations, to provide grants to faculty and students studying border issues, and to develop informational resources on the U.S.-Mexican border.
Specialized Endowments and Foundation Support:
TBI invites inquiries from private donors and corporate sponsors interested in creating special scholarships or awards to promote border studies and cross-border exchange. For example, corporate sponsors interested in sponsoring an annual lecture series or a series of policy studies relevant to their areas of interest are invited to contact TBI to discuss possibilities for cooperation.
TBI also seeks support from private foundations for specific research projects and activities in areas of pressing concern along the border. Presently, TBI is developing grant proposals to develop major research initiatives on the issues of human trafficking and immigration. In seeking funds from private foundations, TBI welcomes collaboration as a partner with other institutions, particularly in Mexico.
