Dr. Yeung joined the University of San Diego Department of Fine Arts in the fall semester of 1994. She is a former director of the Collegium Musicum at Columbia University, where she received her Ph.D. degree in music theory. As a cellist-scholar, Dr. Yeung has given performances, master classes, and lecture-demonstrations at the invitation of many higher institutions of learning, including the Manhattan School of Music, Cornell University, Rutgers University, and Brooklyn College in the United States, the National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, University of Sydney and the Sydney Conservatorium in Australia, and numerous universities in Hong Kong, her home city. Among the numerous engagements during her full-year sabbatical leave 2000-2001, she was guest director for the Baroque Music Society of Hong Kong and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong; with the latter she conducted the world premiere of a work by Joyce Tang at the 2001 Hong Kong Woman Festival. Since 1993, Dr. Yeung has also been the Artistic Director of the Early Music at Saint Peter’s Church concert series in New York City, and Artistic Co-Director of Orvieto Musica, an annual international summer chamber music workshop in Orvieto, Italy.
