Potential readings include Whitman, SPECIMEN DAYS; Gilman, THE LIVING OF CHARLOTTE PERKINS GILMAN; Smith, M TRAIN and WOOLGATHERING; Dahlberg, BECAUSE I WAS FLESH; Baldwin, COLLECTED ESSAYS; Rankine, CITIZEN; and Feldman, GIVE MY REGARDS TO EIGHTH STREET.   Course is seminar style.  Prepare by reading and rereading, writing and rewriting, and making time in your schedule for analysis and reflection as well as reading, so that you may participate enthusiastically in discussion.  Independent thinkers welcome! Note: Course will be canceled if there are fewer than six (6) paid students enrolled as of Monday, July 24.
