Looking to Start a New Club?
We can’t wait to help you start the Club Registration process! Keep in mind that in order to start a new club on campus you must have:
- A minimum of 10 undergraduate students
- A current USD employee to act as your club's advisor
- Constitution (a template can be found here)
Once you have met these requirements, shoot us an email to set up a meeting with an Involvement Consultant in the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Changemaking Center (SLP 316) during our drop-in hours. After the meeting, you will have a chance to review the information covered before taking a quiz.
You will then be able to officially register your club on ToreroOrgs. The AS Activities and Budget Coordinator will review your request, and invite you to the next Student Organization Committee Meeting. At this meeting, you will will be asked to discuss the purpose of your organization and its alignment with USD’s mission. Once approved, the SOC will present this information to the AS Senate, who will officially approve your club.
Please refer to the flowchart below for a more detailed outline of the club registration process.

Please contact Manda Sayegh at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Please note: All clubs must be registered once per academic year.
Club Registration Meetings
Prior to starting a new student organization/club or re-registering a club/organization, organization representatives must either attend the Student Org Conference or set up a Meeting with an Involvement Consultant. An organization representative can either come by during drop-in hours, or email email@example.com to set up an appointment. Plan on budgeting about 15 to 30 minutes for this meeting. Please keep in mind that your organization will not be able to access the many resources available to clubs (funding, room reservation, storage, etc.) until the entire registration process is completed. Please refer to the SLIC's Guide to Registering Your Organization for a complete breakdown of the Club Registration process.
Please note: if your organization attended the Student Org Conference, you are not required to set up a meeting with an Involvement Consultant.
