Student Leadership and Involvement Center

Welcome to Student Leadership, Involvement and Changemaking, affectionately known as the SLIC! If you are interested in getting involved, making meaningful connections, and learning about leadership, this is the place for you!

The SLIC oversees the areas of student activities, leadership development, student organizations, Welcome Week, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. Through the SLIC, you can get connected to over 160 Student Organizations, Associated Students, Torero Program Board, and Fraternity and Sorority Life. The SLIC also provides resources for event planning and leadership trainings on how to better lead a group and affect change. The Creative Zone and Involvement Consultant staffs can help with marketing, team building, event planning support and involvement opportunities. And finally, for all Faculty/Staff/Administrator advisors, use SLIC's Advisor resources to help enhance and enrich the student leader experience.

Learning Outcomes for SLIC:

Recognizing that learning exists throughout involvement opportunities, Student Leadership, Involvement and Changemaking has established Student Learning Objectives (SLOs). SLOs are used to facilitate student learning and development, which will be accomplished through a variety of programs and services offered through SLIC.

The following Student Learning Objectives are intended to represent opportunities for student learning and growth following their engagement and experiences:

  • Intellectual Growth
  • Leadership
  • Cultural Awareness
  • Social Responsibility
