Elective Requirements (9* units):
The remaining units will be determined according to the student's interests and in consultation with an advisor.
*Students Affairs GAs will only need 6 units of electives.
Exit Requirement:
Action Research Project/Thesis. Please consult your advisor for further information.
International Experience:
All students enrolled in the Department of Leadership Studies are expected to participate in an International experience as part of their studies. This requirement can be met through either credit or non-credit bearing experiences. Students should meet with their advisor to discuss how they plan to meet this requirement. The guidelines and options for fulfilling this requirement are published in your program handbook. Students should fill out the International Requirement form and obtain the approval of their advisor before beginning any experience.
On Campus Work Experience
- Graduate Assistantships - SASC:
Graduate Assistantship positions are available in Student Affairs for students enrolled in this master's program who are interested in becoming student affairs professionals. Learn more about our Student Affairs/SOLES Collaboration (SASC). - Compensation for Graduate Assistantships in SASC:
• An hourly wage of $10.40 for 20 hours a week for up to 48 weeks
• Up to $5,000 per semester tuition scholarship
• One year appointment with the possibility of re-appointment for one additional year.
- On Campus Employment - Other Graduate Assistantships or on campus employment may be avail al be in a variety of campus settings, or even through the Division of Student Affairs. Graduate Assistantships that are not part of the Student Affairs-SOLES Collaboration (SASC) typically pay an hourly wage and do not provide scholarship funding as part of their compensation.
