Nonprofit Leadership and Management Certificate Program
Obtain a nationally recognized Nonprofit Leadership and Management Certificate
through the School of Leadership and Education Sciences.
Become a certified nonprofit professional (CNP).
Earn the certificate in combination with any major.
The certificate may be earned in conjunction with the
Leadership Studies Minor or the Education Minor.

If you are planning a career in a social change agency; environmental organization; K-12 education; medicine; higher education; youth services; the arts; museums; religious organizations; philanthropic agencies or foundations this experiential, project-based certificate program is for you. The Nonprofit Leadership and Management Certificate Program is an innovative course of study that develops and certifies students to become skilled professionals and leadership at nonprofit agencies.
The Nonprofit Leadership and Management Certificate Program is a leadership program that prepares students for careers and/or volunteer leadership in nonprofit organizations. Students completing the 11-hour semester credit program will receive national certification from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. This national credential earns students a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) designation that verifies students have met national standards in 17 critical nonprofit management and leadership competencies, completed internships, and attended a four-day professional nonprofit leadership and management conference.
Students also have the option of completing a 20-hour program to receive the Nonprofit Leadership and Management certificate and the Leadership Studies Minor or the Education Minor. The program is recommended for sophomores and juniors. Interested freshman are encouraged to participate in the Emerging Leader Program.
This program is offered with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in Kansas City, MO and offered at over 75 colleges and universities nation-wide.
