Admissions / Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for acceptance to the Aspiring Leaders Program, applicants must:
Be recognized as an excellent teacher
Have leadership potential
Have participated in recent professional development activities
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Possess excellent human relations skills
Demonstrate a strong desire to serve as a site leader at a district school.
Eligible candidates will have met the following minimum requirements:
Possess a master's degree or be willing to earn one (M.A. in Leadership Studies)
Have taught a minimum of three years in a full time teaching position
Have 3.0 GPA on all undergraduate and graduate coursework
Possess basic technology skills
Have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
Possess a valid Clear California Teaching or Services Credential

USD will discount the cost from $1270 per unit to $500 per unit reducing the total cost of the ELDA program to $12,000.00 ($500/unit x 24 units).
Student scholarships may be available.
