Preliminary Services Credential

Admissions / Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for acceptance to the Aspiring Leaders Program, applicants must:

•  Be recognized as an excellent teacher
•  Have leadership potential
•  Have participated in recent professional development activities
•  Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
•  Possess excellent human relations skills
•  Demonstrate a strong desire to serve as a site leader at a district school.

Eligible candidates will have met the following minimum requirements:

•  Possess a master's degree or be willing to earn one (M.A. in Leadership Studies)
•  Have taught a minimum of three years in a full time teaching position
•  Have 3.0 GPA on all undergraduate and graduate coursework
•  Possess basic technology skills
•  Have passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
•  Possess a valid Clear California Teaching or Services Credential

Tuition

USD will discount the cost from $1270 per unit to $500 per unit reducing the total cost of the ELDA program to $12,000.00 ($500/unit x 24 units).

Student scholarships may be available.
