Graduation
Graduate Commencement Ceremony:
Saturday, May 26, 2012 - 1PM - Jenny Craig Pavilion
The University of San Diego has one commencement ceremony a year in May. Students graduating in August of the preceding year and January of the current year are welcome to return and participate in the ceremony. Students who will graduate in the August after the ceremony may participate, but must meet the requirements outlined below. Our next spring graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012. The School of Leadership and Education Sciences graduates will march in the afternoon ceremonies that will begin at 1pm in the Jenny Craig Pavilion.
Graduation Regalia:
Graduation regalia should be ordered through the USD Bookstore.
Important Info for August Grads
| The students who plan to graduate in August but who also want to participate in the preceding May commencement must: | |
| 1. | Have only regular classes, internship or fieldwork classes left to complete. |
| 2. | Can have up to 9 units left to complete. |
| 3. | Must have passed the Comprehensive Examination in the spring semester. |
| 4. | Must register and pay in full for all remaining units at USD no later than May 1 of the graduation year. |
| 5. | Cannot take any of their remaining units for summer at another institution. |
| 6. | Cannot take an independent study course even if the course they need is not offered at USD in the summer. |
As stated in the Graduate Bulletin, no exceptions will be made to the rules above.
If a student graduating in August wants to complete a remaining required course at another institution during the Summer term they may do that but CANNOT participate in May graduation ceremony.
