Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential Program

Make the world a better place, one student at a time.

Earning a credential to teach in multiple-subject classrooms prepares you for a meaningful teaching career—and prepares you to apply for your California teaching credential. (Note: most candidates earn this credential within our Master's Credential Cohort Program in Elementary Education. It's offered in a one- or two-year format and offers discounted tuition.)

This program brings multicultural perspective and a strong element of social justice and inclusivity so you can maximize your impact as a teacher in California's elementary classrooms. You'll embrace methods and practices for teaching students with diverse backgrounds, families and languages. And you'll put your skills to use in actual classrooms in our area, working with children while you build your own capabilities.

Coursework built for a better tomorrow.

While you master foundational skills for teaching, you'll also be immersed in the nuances and challenges of today's classrooms and communities. You'll take classes like Psychological Foundations of Education in a Diverse Society and Elementary Curriculum and Methods for Global Classrooms. Gain the insight, understanding and experience to leave a lasting mark on students and their communities.
