An Introduction to International and Comparative Education Studies

In this course students will explore the relationship between education, culture and society of an emerging country within a global context. This course will allow participants to research and analyze Lithuania's socio-cultural and political factors' impact on their educational systems. Emphasis will be placed on basic comparisons between educational systems in the United States and Lithuana. As part of the class, we will visit local primary and secondary schools, visit with village mayors and heads of education, as well as members of the Ministry of Education and Science in Vilnius.
