This course will have two goals. The first is for students to learn the role of foundations as grantmakers in light of both best practice and emerging trends such as accountability, transparency and generational wealth transfer. The second goal is for students to design in “real time” a Request for Proposal (RFP) and make evidence based recommendations for approval to a local private foundation. This is a two-unit elective course.
