| Units | 2 |
| Description | This course is designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about the nature of the nonprofit sector in Guatemala, a developing country, and how the sector plays a role in civil society. In particular, we will explore the dynamic role of human service agencies – both INGOs (internationally operated nonprofits) and Guatemala-based nonprofits -- in a post-war society. Students will also be introduced to the challenges these nonprofits face serving multi-cultural populations within the country. |
