DescriptionStudents are exposed to the fundamental assumptions and ideas of general systems theory and the basic premises of the various theoretical orientations within the family therapy field.  Family Theories II covers Cognitive-Behavioral Family Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Therapy, Contextual Family Therapy, and a variety of Experiential family therapies, including Symbolic-Experiential Therapy, Emotionally-focused Therapy, and the work of Virginia Satir.
