Description

The San Diego County Taxpayers Association (SDCTA) is seeking an individual to serve as its President and CEO.This is a dynamic position and one that requires the ability to move smoothly between policy and administrative roles.The President/CEO is responsible for the following:

  • Day-to-day operation of the Association, including supervision of staff and financial oversight of the Association
  • Board and committee support
  • Planning and execution of fundraising and policy forum events, including the annual “Goldens”
  • Implementation and updating of Association 3-year Strategic Plan
  • Oversee membership recruitment and training of members of Board of Directors Develop positions for the Association on regional issues and public policy
  • Serve as the SDCTA representative to the general public and media
  • Interact with governmental officials regarding SDCTA positions (requires registering as lobbyist)
  • Identifying, pursuing and maintaining relationships and strategic partnerships that support the SDCTA mission and objectives
  • Coordinate, organize and/or lead public policy initiatives and campaigns
  • Coordinate, organize and/or lead Coaltions in support of public policy initiatives

The qualified candidate should posses the following:

  • Minimum of five years experience in government, public policy and/or community relations
  • Experience with organizational management, event management and media relations
  • Knowledge of San Diego regional issues preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with co-workers, volunteers, media and the public in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self starter with ability to work independently
