| Description | South Bay Community Services - Promise Neighborhood Job Purpose: Promotoras, under the supervision of the ELN Program Director are responsible for supporting services in the Community. Services will be in keeping with CVPN goals, objectives, mission, style, and theory of change provided within a collective framework, congruent with the community we serve. Promotoras work with the team in developing team goals and objectives and in meeting those goals and objectives working together to stimulate volunteerism and strengthen community ties, respond to the concerns and unmet needs of the community, create more caring relationships among community members, and generally improve community well-being. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Coordinate daily activities required to establish and maintain the goals and objectives of the South Bay's regional prevention plan;Reach out to, educate, and assist families and students to connect with community resources;Refer students and families to services and provide grassroots outreach;Enhance neighborhood environments and infrastructure;Strengthen community ties for all ages and all ethnic groups;Coordinate community events and activities that instill cultural heritage and community togetherness;Appropriate coordination of contacts with other public and private organizations and individuals, as necessary to effectively serve clients. (e.g. progress reports to referral sources, client referrals to other agencies);Monthly collection of data and information of services provided; andOther duties as assigned and required by Project Manager. Qualifications: High school education preferred, but not required. Minimum one-year experience preferred in a community based or neighborhood service organization or similar experience. Experience in the areas of outreach, community education and development, advocacy, crisis intervention and case management. Ability to work with a diverse cultural population.
