The Opportunity Our first kindergartners began their journey as lifelong learners when we opened our elementary schools in 2012. As a Kindergarten or 1st grade teacher at HVA Elementary, you (with a brilliant and dedicated co-teacher) will create your dream classroom: a place of academic depth, a caring atmosphere that nurtures each child’s potential. Working closely with other teachers, you will have the freedom to create your own curriculum and lessons, in line with HVA’s mission and standards. Responsibilities Collaborate with a co-teacher to develop and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous curriculum and lessons, aligned with HVA standardsInspire students to dedicate themselves fully to their educationEstablish and uphold classroom routines to ensure a focused, safe and caring environmentWith guidance, analyze assessment data and use data to inform instructionCollaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standardsMaintain close relationships with families, including phone calls and conferences Qualifications Minimum two years full-time classroom teaching experience, preferably at the lower elementary level in an urban setting.
