Residential Living at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is in the process of recruiting full-time Residence Hall Directors for the 2013-2014 academic year. Please share this information with your graduate students who are seeking employment in student affairs. Thank you!

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is the coordination of an educational residential facility, housing approximately 250 students. This includes areas of academic, student, and community development programs, wellness programs, student activities, counseling, administration, and in-service staff education. In addition, professional development exists through an eight hour per week collateral assignment on campus or in the Stevens Point area.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required. A master's degree in the area of student personnel, counseling or related areas and previous residence hall or related experience is preferred. Also, strong interpersonal skills, decision-making skills and ability to work autonomously are necessary. Experience working with diverse groups of students is desired. An interest in academic, student and community development, wellness, group dynamics and student leadership training is desired.

Remuneration

The anticipated base salary for a master's degree is $26,000 (plus extensive fringe benefits) and board for the academic year appointment (10 months), plus a furnished apartment. Additional salary is available for academic work beyond the master's level or for experience. Summer employment is guaranteed, if desired, which can add an additional $2,890 for part-time employment to $5,777 for full-time employment (bringing the total salary package to $28,890-$31,780). Residential Living employment will require a criminal background check be completed prior to hiring.
