| Description | The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies seeks an individual with extensive public school administrative experience to serve as Professor of Practice and Program Coordinator in its educational administration program.
Duties include: advising students in building and district licensure programs, supervising student internships, serving on student dissertation committees, recruiting graduate students, establishing and enhancing liaison activities with the public schools and other professional organizations, coordinating assessment and accreditation activity, and serving as an active member of the department and School of Education. This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track academic appointment and is for fixed length (maximum of 3 years) with a possibility of renewal. It is a nine month academic appointment plus at least one month of summer employment.
Specific Duties Teach graduate courses and advise students in K-12 Educational Administrative programs. 20% Supervise administrative field experiences for aspiring school administrators. 20% Provide leadership and engage in administrative tasks related to the Educational Administration master’s and doctoral cohort programs. (e.g., organize new student orientation, coordinate admissions process and course scheduling.) 30% Develop collaborative relationships with area school districts. 10% Serve as an active member of the SOE and ELPS Department faculty. 20% Required Qualifications A doctoral degree from a nationally accredited university in educational administration or closely related field. At least 5 years successful K-12 public school administrative experience. Administrative licensure in any state. Preferred Qualifications Public school administrative experience in Kansas or KC metro area. Administrative experience at the building and central office level. Prior experience serving on state or national professional committees. Extensive knowledge of schools and leaders in Kansas and/or KC metro area. University teaching experience. Experience serving on dissertation committees. Extensive public speaking experience or other evidence of community involvement and communication skills. Experience with on-line or hybrid courses.
