The University of San Diego Outstanding Book Award Committee invites you to attend a presentation at the Department of Leadership Studies in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences by Alex Haslam, PhD, author of The New Psychology of Leadership.
This book examines the complex integral nature of social identity in the emergence of leadership. Psychological implications from the individual to the collective level will be explored. Case examples from contemporary social issues will be used to demonstrate the depth of the process that leaders encounter.
Dr. Haslam’s work has also included groundbreaking research on the role of tyranny in prison situations and the “glass cliff” that women experience as they rise to the ranks of leadership in major organizations globally. His findings are provocative and invite lively discourse.
