Counseling and MFT Field Experiences

Evidence-based knowledge. Real-world application.

Help facilitate and sustain healthy relationships while you learn through SOLES Counseling and MFT practicum. Each semester, you go into the field to put theory into practice and get feedback from professionals in the workforce. And most importantly, you'll learn by working directly with families and individuals who need it most.

Your field experience will be an opportunity to put social justice into action with a diverse set of populations and cultures. Your skills will help you make a difference among refugee communities, military families, foster care settings, families affected by domestic violence and other constituencies. You, your advisors and the field experience organizations will work together to find the best fit for this significant component of your SOLES experience.

"Prior to starting the program, I did not know a great deal about global mental health. My career goals have broadened being in the MFT program as I consider how I can be of service to people both near and far from me."
