Dixie Crane, Program Coordinator,  Caring Helpers Leadership Training Program--Youth Gang Alternative Program &  Mark Blackshear, Youth Development & Empowerment This presentation demonstrates ways to teach youth to acknowledge their strengths and to recognize the cultural differences of other individuals.  It includes examples of exercises and  interactive activities that teach young people the importance of honoring the values and beliefs of others.

    Lessons in Character & Peace 
    This session will engage elementary school teachers in using several classroom tested  lessons, on such topics as self-discipline, resolving conflicts peacefully, empathy and service, caring and citizenship, friendships and relationships, and respect and responsibility.

Interactions for Peace, the building blocks for peace in all schools (pre k-12), includes a complete curriculum and range of programs to meet the needs of our youngest children to the complex needs of adolescents. The founder of I4P will share her story of peace, explain the five essential elements necessary to make a peace program work, and demonstrate lessons that can be taken straight back to the classroom. In this session, Eden Steele, the creator of Peace Patrol, will reveal how everyone can empower students with strategies and skills to build a strong foundation for peaceful interactions in our homes, schools, and communities. Participants will walk away with lessons and ideas that can be implemented immediately in any classroom. 2. Sean Chumbley M.A., Primary Peacemaker Co-Director and Trainer & Interactions for Peace Executive Board Member

Primary Peacemakers- Awakening the Peacemaker in the Youngest of Students (pre K-2nd).

The co-director of the Primary Peacemakers Program will share how primary students can become aware of their ability to be problem solvers and peacemakers. Participants attending this session will leave with ready to use lessons and ideas to successfully implement this program in any primary classroom. Room 133
