What is the theme of this conference?

Lessons and Strategies That Change Student Lives

Featured Speakers and six or more interactive sessions offering effective teaching strategies and lessons that promote and nurture the character development of children and youth

Who should attend?

Teachers, principals, & counselors; central office administrators and staff; students in-training; college professors and teacher educators; parents and public/private service agency staff.

Where is the conference?

On the USD campus in Hill Hall-School of Leadership & Education Sciences on Monday and Tuesday, June 27 & 28th, 2011 from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

What’s the cost?

$200/attendee----$150 for schools that send three (3) or more teachers--$50 for students with ID. The cost includes two continental breakfasts-two lunches-handouts-book sales—book drawings- special prizes!

Can I take the conference for credit?

Yes! We offer both graduate credit and professional development units (in-service credit) for educators who attend both days of the conference and participate in a four, five–hour weekly online sessions in July (with a final assignment).

Taking the conference-course for credit is an additional cost.

Teachers should seek prior district approval for salary advancement units. Those who successfully complete the course may apply it to our specialist certificate in character development.
