Doctoral Fellows Program
Led by:
Bill Piland, Professor
San Diego State University
Once again we are planning the CCLDI Doctoral Fellows program. The last three years of the program have met with great success. The purpose of the Fellows program is to bridge the gap between academic research and the issues and problems faced by community college leaders. During the Spring 2006 semester, the doctoral fellows nominated will meet two or three times with community college leaders and researchers in California. The fellows will learn about major research efforts, review data sets and research projects that will increase their own readiness for leadership positions and dissertation research, and form a Learning Community of student-researchers who learn from and assist each other. The students nominated should meet the following criteria:
- Be entering their second or third year in a doctoral program
- Be interested in research related to community college leadership
- Be able to commit to attending 2-3 meetings in the Spring 2006 semester
- Aspire to a leadership position at a community college
