Patrick Kerwin, MBA NCC MCC Principal, Kerwin & Associates in San Diego, California |

Patrick Kerwin is principal of Kerwin & Associates in San Diego, California, specializing in the development of organizations, teams, and individuals. A Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® Master Practitioner, Patrick works with corporate, education, and non-profit organizations to put the MBTI® instrument into practice for team-building, communication enhancement, change management, stress management, and individual development. He has worked with organizations including Microsoft, Google, Amgen, Heinz, Genentech, the U.S. Navy, the Air Force Space Command, Lockheed Martin, Monarch Healthcare, the California HealthCare Foundation, the University of Notre Dame, Purdue University, and Thunderbird School of Global Management. Patrick is also one of a small cadre of faculty who conducts the intensive, four-day MBTI Certification Program in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Patrick develops and delivers customized training programs and workshops. He is the developer of the MBTI Optimizing Team Performance team-building program, and developer of the customized, MBTI-based Personality Insights training program for Microsoft. He is also the author of the Kerwin Values Survey® career values assessment. Patrick is founder and Past-President of SANDAPT, the San Diego chapter of the Association for Psychological Type International. Patrick holds his MBA and Career Counseling Specialist Graduate Certificate from California State University, Long Beach, and is a National Certified Counselor. His type preferences are ENFJ. |

| Before joining the faculty in 2007 George Reed, Ph.D., served for 27 years as an Army officer, including six years as the director of Command and Leadership Studies at the United States Army War College. He teaches courses in leadership, ethics and organizational theory. Recent publications include Toxic Leadership: Part Deux in Military Review and The Impact of Destructive Leadership on Senior Military Officers and Civilian Employees in Armed Forces and Society. He serves on the editorial board of the journal Parameters and is a reviewer for The American Review of Public Administration and Leadership Quarterly. |

Lorri Sulpizio, Ph.D. Founder and CEO, Lotus Leadership Institute, San Diego |

| Lorri Sulpizio has dedicated her career to advancing the science and art of leadership development through research, education, training and consulting. Dr. Sulpizio is a founder and the principle consultant for Lotus Leadership Institute- a leadership development company that helps both individuals and organizations to increase their leadership effectiveness and become more productive. She is a published author having written many articles and book chapters, and in an international presenter on leadership. Dr. Sulpizio has contributed her advanced leadership skills to benefit many organizations as a executive board member for New Children’s Museum of San Diego, the California Community College Women’s Basketball Association and the Fitness Advisory Council for San Diego Mesa College. She served as head women’s basketball coach at San Diego Mesa College from 2001-2007 and coached at Cuyamaca College from 2008-2010. Dr. Sulpizio serves as adjunct professor, teaching business and leadership courses at several institutions of higher learning, including the University of San Diego and Cal State San Marcos. Her accomplishments include designing and implementing an empowerment program for female addicts and victims of domestic violence and is the co-founder for WeLead, a program dedicated to girls and young women's leadership. Dr. Sulpizio has her PhD in leadership from the University of San Diego, her MA in Sports Psychology from SDSU, and her BA in English from Cal Poly SLO.

Diana Van Der Ploeg, Ph.D. President, Butte College, retired |

Diana Van Der Ploeg recently retired as President of Butte College in Oroville, California. She previously served as the Interim President of Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington after having served as President of Spokane Falls Community College in Washington and Gateway Community-Technical College in Connecticut. Prior to that she held a variety of positions at Aims Community College in Colorado, including Faculty member and Department Chair, Dean of the South Campus, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Associate Vice President of the College. Along with working as a Presidential Fellow with Second Nature, she currently is owner of a consulting firm specializing in executive coaching for new and experienced presidents, leadership development, sustainability efforts, emergency preparedness, teamwork and executive team building, and strategic planning and budgeting. Dr. Van Der Ploeg's teaching experience includes having taught in the Community College Leadership doctoral program at Colorado State University, as a professor of Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine at Aims Community College, and as a public high school teacher. In addition, she also owned a consulting business, and worked as a Flight Paramedic with Air Life Medical Helicopter and as a Paramedic with Weld County Paramedic Service in Greeley, Colorado. Dr. Van Der Ploeg earned her Ph.D. in Community College Administration at Colorado State University, her Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, and her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver. Diana was named one of the top 80 leaders in higher education by the American Association of Higher Education. She also received the Phi Theta Kappa Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction, the Meritorious Service Award, the Michael Bennett Lifetime Achievement Award, the Mayor’s Proclamation for outstanding service in New Haven, the Monarch Award for Leadership, and Certificates of Recognition from Senator Aanestad for Sustainability, Assemblyman Logue for Leadership, and the Certificate of Special Recognition from Congressman Wally Herger. She was also named one of the top 20 noteworthy women by the New Haven Business Times. |

Alan Yu |

This is Alan’s third year as the Operations Director for CCLA. Alan is a doctoral student in Leadership Studies at University of San Diego. With a focus in leadership education, Alan is particular interested in understanding how arts-based pedagogies rooted in reflective and transformative adult learning theories can promote and develop creative leadership capacity. He is currently co-teaching a non-traditional creativity and leadership course that he co-developed with Dr. Rose Martinez where students develop creative expression by exploring the arts and learning from master artist-teachers such as filmmakers, painters, and educators. Alan also works for the Center for Creative Leadership as a Research and Design Associate where he is researching interventions that he has designed around boundary spanning leadership. During his spare time, Alan enjoys going across the border to Tijuana with University Ministry to help economically and physically disadvantaged individuals. He also enjoys dabbling in various art forms such as music composition, writing, and learning about art forms from different cultures in order to further his craft as an educator. Prior to his doctoral work in leadership education, Alan was a User Interface and Graphic Designers for various companies in the Seattle area such as T-Mobile and AT&T. Alan holds MA and BA degrees in Asian Studies from The University of Iowa. Alan is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. |
