Mobile Technology Learning Center
The MTLC is designed to establish the university research environment of the future, while concurrently fueling innovation in K-12 education. Research projects focus on the applications of mobile learning devices to learning and tests new solutions in real-world contexts—schools. The MTLC involves collaborations with local PK-12 districts to test research findings and provide future teachers with unique teaching and research opportunities.

MTLC Classifieds is an online database of current and future faculty-led projects. The purpose of the database is to connect students with opportunities to gain meaningful work experience on projects of interest, and to highlight the work USD faculty members are doing in the field. Longtime philanthropists and supporters of innovation in education, Dr. Irwin Jacobs and Joan Jacobs have pledged $3,000,000 to the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership & Education Sciences’s (SOLES) Mobile Technology Learning Center (MTLC).

Spotlight Speaker Series

The seventh annual speaker series, hosted by the Educational Leadership Academy, is themed "21st Century Learners: Exchanging & Advancing Knowledge Through Wireless Technology. On Wednesday, May 15th, our speaker will be Tom Vander Ark, Author, Founder of Getting Smart. He will be speaking on 21st century skills related to the use of mobile technology devices.
