Congratulations to all of our alumni on these exciting updates!

Vina (Jacinta) Pereira '71 (MEd) says she and her husband, Julian, have retired, leaving their four children to run their companies. She says the have been living in Victoria, B.C., Canada for the past 45 years. "Cheers to good ole USD!"

Teri (Beaudoin) Parker '71 (BA) '72 (MEd) retired from work as an elementary school resource specialist in 2014. She and her husband, Terry '71 (BA), live in Lake Forest, California. Together they have traveled near and far and are especially fond of their cruise vacations to new and interesting places around the world. 

Rebecca Jenney Seymour '89 (BA) '91 (MEd) works at an elementary school in Pasadena, CA, with three other USD alums. Her daughter Megan, '18 (BA), is also working on her master's degree in education at SOLES.

Larry Perez '96 (MEd) is the director of student life and an instructor at Barry University in Miami. He's enjoying the great culture, weather, and beaches of South Florida.

Cherie Verber '97 (MA) retired in the central highlands of Mexico and spends her time teaching women how to sew and empowering them with their new abilities to form a cooperative and earn money.

Louise Stanger '99 (EdD) was awarded the Excellence in Service Award by the Peggy Albrecht Friendly House. Louise is an independent interventionist, lecturer, professor, clinician, trainer and author.

Tina Casola '01 (MA) speaks nationally on the topic of behavioral health in emergency services. Locally, she'll be presenting the keynote address at the California Office of Emergency SErvices Fire Division Risk Management Conference in April.

Taylor Newendorp '07 (MA) published his first book: The Perfectionism Workbook: Proven Strategies to End Procrastination, Accept Yourself, and Achieve Your Goals. 

Brian Evavold '08 (BA) NROTC retired from the U.S. Navy in June 1, 2018 after 25 years of service. He completed his last 10 years in the Washington, D.C. area.

Chrissie Sorenson '10 (EdD) is in her 10th year living in Germany. "Still enthusiastic about my work, seeing the relevance in what I do every day. How luck am I?"

Maria Fernanda Torres '13 (MA) moved back to San Diego after living and working abroad as a preschool and elementary school counselor at an American School in Valencia, Spain.

Melissa (Epes) O'Donoghue '12 (BA) '14 (MEd) says "Around seven years ago, I was set up with John for a sorority dance, and this July we got married!"

Vanessa Montgomery '16 (MEd) is an educational specialist for students with mild to moderate disabilities at San Diego High School. Vanessa was awarded as teacher of the year at her school last year.

Tracy (Zetts) Telliard '12 (BA) '16 (MA) moved to Riverside, CA, after completing her master's in the summer of 2016. She recently started working at the University of Redlands as the Assistant Director of Alumni and Community Relations.

Hazel Claros '18 (MA)  is the assistant director of admissions and outreach at SOLES. She says she is "passionate about helping others achieve their educational goals and strives to maintain equitable and inclusive practices in higher education."

Andrea (Medina) Madeleine '18 (MA) is a program manager with the Stanford Ignite Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. The program combines current graduate students and entrepreneurs with innovators, scientists and engineers from leading companies to formulate, develop and commercialize their ideas.
