Requirements for Admission


Requirements for Participation

  • This certificate program is only open to current students and alumni of the SOLES Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership and Management and alumni of the SOLES Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management.

Requirements for Certification

  • Register for membership with NLA online and create a student profile by clicking here.
  • Complete LEAD 501 - Capstone course on Nonprofit Management.
  • Complete nonprofit competency requirements, which is a part of the coursework for the Nonprofit and Leadership Management Program. Competency areas of study include: Nonprofit Fundamentals, Ethics, Volunteer Management/Board Development, Fundraising and Resource Development, Finance, Management, and Marketing.
  • Complete at least 300 hours of work in a nonprofit organization (this can be actual work experience or volunteer work in a nonprofit organization).
  • Attend the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Institute or an equivalent professional development meeting (i.e. AFP national meetings, AMA Cause Marketing Conference, etc.)
  • Personal essay on leadership.
