When did you begin your program, and when do you anticipate completing it?I began my program in Fall 2015 and I anticipate finishing May 2017.
What do you hope to do with your degree and/or credential, and why?
I want to work to make higher education more equitable. I also want to work with students in
empowering environments! My specific interests are in leadership, diversity and inclusion, higher
education policy, and outdoor education.
How did you hear about SOLES, and why did you choose to enroll?
Dr. Cheryl Getz introduced me SOLES. I chose to enroll because of the program’s leadership core, the
integration of case-in- point teaching methods, and the opportunity to put higher education theory to
practice in a small community.
What is your background? For example, where are you from, where else have you earned a degree, and where have you worked?
I’m from the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. I got my B.A. in journalism at the University of Minnesota.
I am thrilled that I was able to join the M.A. in Higher Education Leadership program in SOLES
because has allowed me to learn with a very passionate and diverse group of people.
Are you currently working? If so, do you work full-time or part-time, and what do you do?
I’m currently working part-time at Outdoor Adventures at USD. I love the opportunity to take USD
community members to enjoy the outdoors in a variety of ways.
