Any outside obligations (family, military, volunteer work, student organizations, etc)?

I volunteer once a week at the UCSD Medical Center located in Hillcrest. There I shadow the occupational therapist in the psychiatric inpatient wing.

Tell us about any research or independent study you have done at SOLES.

My first year at SOLES was by far my busiest with research. I presented at two different conferences during Spring 2016 (ACJS and AAAS-PD) looking at the following topics: Women of Color on Death Row in Prisons, The Psychological Mindset of A Terrorist, and Integrating Evidence- Based and Culturally Responsive Mental Health Services for Policing Diverse Communities. My research team and I had the honor of being  mentioned in the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) journal for our work in The Psychological Mindset of a Terrorist.
