Jesse Rapport '15
MA in Higher Education Leadership
Jesse Rapport completed her undergraduate degree in communications at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. Following graduation, Jesse joined AmeriCorps and completed a year of service at her alma mater and developed a mentor program for at-risk first-year college students. During this time, she realized her passion was in working with college students and helping them to navigate their college experiences. Following her service, she decided to purse a MA in Higher Education Leadership at the University of San Diego.
As a student in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, Jesse was extremely active and involved. She served as the Graduate Student Association president and represented her colleagues on the presidential search committee. As a graduate assistant in the Student Leadership and Involvement Center at the university, Jesse worked as an advisor for student activities. During her time in the program, she was also fortunate enough to study community models of leadership in Sir Lanka as well as served as an advisor for an immersion trip to Ghana, West Africa for undergraduates.
Jesse is now the coordinator for Student Activities at Sixth College at University of California-San Diego. She credits a lot of her success to the amazing faculty at SOLES and wonderful community of colleagues she met in the program.
