M.Ed. in Special Education
Check out our M.Ed. in Special Education. Our program prepares special education teacher candidates to teach in K-12 schools and other agencies serving individuals with special needs from kindergarten through 22 years of age. Most SOLES students complete this M.Ed. concurrently with an Education Specialist Credential, since only one more course in addition to the credential coursework is needed to add the master’s degree. Both the M.Ed. and the credential are available as stand-alone programs, but the credential is required in order to work in the California school system.
Please note that if you want to become a K-12 teacher and do not yet have a teaching credential, you will need to earn one in order to teach in public schools in the state of California. A master’s degree is not required nor sufficient to become a credentialed teacher. To learn more about our teaching credentials, please click here.
