Douglas Luffborough was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, from humble circumstances. As the oldest son of a housekeeper, Doug was homeless in high school but became the first member of his family to graduate from college. He was chosen as the student commencement speaker of his undergraduate college preceding President Bill Clinton, who invited Doug to visit the White House.

Doug has been working with nonprofit organizations for over 20 years and is the Executive Director of Turning the Hearts Center, a youth and adult empowerment center committed to turning the hearts of youth and families through leadership development.

Also committed to K-12 educational leadership, Doug is an elected school board trustee with the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
