Cynthia Davalos

Ph.D. in Leadership Studies

Cynthia Davalos began her career in higher education in 1998. After working at the University of San Diego in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, Cynthia began working for the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000.

In 2005 she took her experiences working in outreach, admissions, student orgs, and alumni relations to UC San Diego where she currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor-Student Affairs. Cynthia is part of the Vice Chancellor's senior leadership team that works collectively on issues of outreach, yield, and retention. In her role she oversees Student Affairs campus and community relations, and special projects and initiatives directed by the Vice Chancellor.

She is a member of the Student Affairs professional organizations, NASPA and ACPA. Her research interests include, access and diversity in higher education, university and community partnerships, and higher education leadership.
