Combined BA/MEd Teacher Education Program (CTEP)
Department of Learning and Teaching & Liberal Studies Program
In as little as 5 years, USD students can graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction along with a Preliminary California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Completion of this program allows graduates to enter the workforce in California elementary schools following graduation.
This program emphasizes the connection between theory and practice, weaving together university-based coursework, action research, and thoughtfully designed field experiences. Candidates in the program will develop the knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to flourish in their own classrooms, as well as the critical habits of mind and reflective practices that will allow them to grow as educators throughout their careers.
