ACT Program's Unique Qualities

The 45-48-unit program is a three-year cohort program.

ACT is designed as a residence program. Candidate's will ideally live together to enable them to build a community that shares common experiences, challenges and constructs and refines ideas about pedagogy.

ACT teacher candidates will serve as interns in Catholic schools. They will begin immediately with a practicum supporting a Multiple or Single Subject curriculum as well as take  Catholic Foundation and Methods workshops, giving candidates the pedagogical and spiritual tools to respond to students' needs.

While the majority of field placement will be satisfied in Catholic schools, during the thrid year, candidates may also complete one placement in a public school, which prepares students to earn a California state credential.

Student teaching classes will be dispersed throughout the duration of the program.
