About SOLES

Southern California Teacher Recruitment and Support Center (TRC)

The School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES) and the San Diego County Office of Education’s Teacher Recruitment and Support Center (TRC) have formalized a partnership to enhance the recruitment of the best and brightest individuals into the teaching profession.  The partnership focuses on targeted recruitment activities in the high need areas of math, science, and special education.  In addition, the TRC’s California Troops to Teachers (TTT) Program, which targets former military personnel for a second career in teaching, works closely with SOLES to offer a high quality, flexible teacher preparation option to program participants.  The TRC also partners with USD to convene professional development, recruitment sessions, and other events on campus.  The events include the TTT Teacher of the Year, Substitute Teacher Training, Teaching as a Career sessions, and the annual County-Wide Teacher Job Fair.  SOLES and TRC staff co–present at these functions to build closer alignment between teacher recruitment and preparation.  For more information regarding the Teacher Recruitment and Support Center and the programs it offers, go to www.teachsocal.org or contact Chris Reising, Director of the TRC at creising@sdcoe.net.
