Welcome! The Center for Student Support Systems (CS3), located in MRH-143, was established in December 2002 in response to the need to improve the quality of guidance and counseling and related student support programs and services. CS3 serves the school counseling and student support program community in San Diego, the region, the state, the nation, and internationally. The center engages in professional development, research, service, and advocacy related to school counseling and other student support services. The center's vision is that all K-12 students in California and beyond be served by high-quality, evidence-based comprehensive student support programs.

CS3 also serves as a laboratory for leadership development for graduate students in the USD School Counseling specialization. Leadership experience is gained through involvement with the numerous events and projects sponsored by the center. Many USD graduate students in school counseling participate actively in the Center Operations Group (or C.O.G.). The motto created for the COG when it was founded in 2003 is Fac ut rotulae simper rotentur (Latin for “Make the little wheels forever turn”). The motto reflects the fact that the COG is at the center of all CS3 activities and events. Since the founding of the COG, graduate student volunteers, CS3 graduate assistants, and Counseling Program Merit Scholars have organized, coordinated, and staffed more than 20 events, conferences, workshops, summits, and other professional development activities.
