Program Description
The Lean Certificate program teaches students Lean tools and techniques that can include dramatically improve your organization by removing non-value added activities while improving your cycle-time, products costs, and reducing inventory reduction. Some of the topics include 5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Kanban, and Kaizen. The integrated learning environment provides participants hands-on practice using the tools in a real life scenario.
Program Objectives
- Teach students about their role in Lean and continuous improvement within their organization
- Learn to appply Lean concepts such as 5S, waste reduction, Process Mapping, Value Stream Mapping and mistake proofing
- Present projects to instructors, peers and managers for continuous feedback
