SEED San Diego

The Urban Sound and SEED are excited to announce that 'Planting A SEED' is now available for download on Itunes, Amazon and other leading music download stores.

In 2009, The Urban Sound Label planted a seed in the form of musical expertise and watched it grow into a musical album all in the aid of an art event to do with George 'Skip' Gleavey (The beneficiary of SEED's 2009 Project). The music was composed by Steven Gurevitz

The Music of 'Planting SEED' represents SEED's work in general and specifically with Skip Gleavey.

25% of the proceeds received by The Urban Sound Label will be passed onto SEED for the use in future charitable and community projects.

Buy it on the iTunes.

Project 2009

Most of us can't imagine what it's like to complete one marathon, let alone more than one. The training, the discipline, the endurance. But that's exactly what this year's Recipient, Skip Gleavey, has done.

In fact, Skip has completed marathons, 100-mile "century" bike rides and triathlon events to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, all -- unbelievably -- while battling a rare, Stage 4, lymphoma and recovering from heart surgery. Now Skip faces even more challenges as he adjusts to life confined to a wheelchair, the result of injuries sustained during a devastating bicycling accident in 2008 that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

Skip has been there for others, now it our time to be there for him

Adjusting to life in a wheel chair is difficult enough but when the transition is further hindered by the physical and structural limitations of your house, that adjustment can become overwhelming. With the help of donors, sponsors and other partners, SEED's goal is to modify Skip's house to allow him safe and easy access to those amenities the rest of us take for granted.
