Summer Business Institute: A College Summer Program

Drop Shadow

Internship

A vital component of any college education is to relate what students are learning in the classroom to real world experiences. This experience opportunity is done through Internships, where students participate in real-life experiential learning environments. This course will guide students through learning and self-reflection about the various types of workplace situations to include: organizational structure, culture, institutional leadership, and project management processes.

Students will participate throughout the internship course in a series of modules that will be delivered online through lectures, exercises, quizzes, writing assignments, a portfolio project and online class discussions with the instructor and peer students. This rich dialogue of sharing and comparing personal internship experiences will create a venue for students to understand the importance of relating academic coursework to real-world work experiences and share with one another ideas for getting the most out of the internship experience and creating future opportunities from what’s been learned.
