Summary: At approximately 0127, Public Safety officers observed two female individuals supporting a third female exit a cab and proceed into a residential area. Upon investigation, the individuals were contacted, identified as residents, and one student was repeatedly vomiting during contact. Paramedics were called for further evaluation, and determined that the student was able to care for herself. The student was cited for being drunk in public.

Location: SERRA HALL
Summary: On November 4, 2009 the Department of Public Safety received a report (case #09-01075) of a bias incident in Serra Hall. The offense included a racially-biased statement made in ink on a flyer that was posted on the 2nd (main) floor of Serra. A university student first noticed the images and comments on 11/02/2009 at approximately 10:00 pm, but the incident was not reported to Public Safety until 1:08 pm on 11/04/2009. The flyer was removed and catalogued by Public Safety as evidence. The University’s Sensitive Issues Team was convened on 11/05/2009 to review the incident and ascertain the most appropriate university response. The Department of Public Safety is working to determine the individual(s) responsible for this incident. Anyone with knowledge of this incident is encouraged to contact the Department of Public Safety at (619) 260-7777. The University of San Diego will not tolerate any bias-related incidents and will respond to them with appropriate sanctions. Location: COLACHIS PLAZA
Summary: On November 8, 2009 at approximately 12:13 p.m., the Department of Public Safety received a report (case #09-01093) of an individual brandishing a weapon near The Immaculata. Public Safety responded immediately to the location, located the individual in question, and determined that he had a pocket knife on his person. The individual was reported to have made threatening comments and threatening gestures with the pocket knife to two non-USD community members. Public Safety immediately placed the individual under arrest and identified him as Hector Beltran. SDPD was contacted and responded to the scene, assumed custody of Mr. Beltran and booked Mr. Beltran into jail.
