Summary: At approximately 0032 Public Safety observed two intoxicated individuals attempting to get into a vehicle and drive off campus. Upon investigation the two individuals were contacted. One individual fled the scene and during a foot pursuit physically assaulted a Public Safety officer. The second individual attempted to kick out the back window of a Public Safety vehicle. Both individuals were too intoxicated to care for themselves and were not candidates for detox. The two individuals, identified as resident students, were turned over to SDPD. One individual was arrested for being drunk in Public and the second was arrested for battery.

Summary: On May 14, 2008 at approximately 7:45a.m., a bias motivated incident was reported to USD's Department of Public Safety. The incident involved two bias words which had been written on two separate white boards in two private offices in Maher Hall. Public Safety Officers photographed and fingerprinted the associated materials. The investigation into this incident continues. Anyone having observed suspicious activity in and around Maher Hall between the hours of 5:35p.m on 5/13/08 and 7:25a.m on 5/14/08 is encouraged to contact the Department of Public Safety at (619)260-7777.
