Location: ALCALA VISTA EAST LOT
Summary: At approximately 0739 Public Safety responded to a report of a theft of four vehicle wheels/tires from a parked vehicle located in the lower parking lot behind the Sports Center.  Upon investigation the front right door lock had been broken and the battery cables had been cut. Upon further investigation five wheel locks that had been left in the vehicle’s glove compartment were missing and had likely been used to remove the wheels from the vehicle. The theft is thought to have occurred between 1400 on 10/17/2006 and 0700 on 10/18/2006. Fingerprints were taken from the scene and the theft is under further investigation by the San Diego Police Department.

Incident Class & Type: Marijuana and Minor in Possession of Alcohol
Location: Camino Residence Hall
Summary: At approximately 19:23 Public Safety was requested by Resident Assistants to respond to a possible marijuana incident.  Resident Assistants indicated that there had been a strong odor of marijuana at the time of the incident, and that a towel had been wedged under the resident’s door.  No marijuana was found, however, all four students were found to be Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

Summary: At approximately 22:27 Public Safety was requested by Resident Assistants to assist with a Minor in Possession incident involving five individuals.  Two of the individuals were USD students and the other three were non-students.  The USD students were cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Hosting.  The non-students were removed from the campus.

Location: San Juan Residence Hall
Summary: At approximately 01:00 a female student was found intoxicated and unable to care for herself. At the time of the initial incident she was in the vicinity of San Juan residence hall.  The student was voluntarily transported by Public Safety to Detox, however, after arriving at Detox the student became extremely agitated and was then rejected by the Detox staff.  The student was then arrested by San Diego Police and booked into jail.

Summary: At approximately 01:15 a several males are observed throwing lighted newspapers into the bushes off of the second floor landing on the south side of San Miguel residence hall.  When Public Safety attempted to contact the students, the students fled from Public Safety into their rooms.  Anyone having information about the identity of the students involved in this incident is encouraged to contact the Department of Public Safety at (619) 260-7777.  Information about this incident can be given anonymously and will remain confidential

Summary: At approximately 2116 Public Safety responded to a report of an apple that had been thrown through a resident hall room window screen. Upon investigation there were no suspects in the area and the window screen was repaired.

*Incident Class & Type: Sexual Assault
Date: During the week of October 20 through October 29, 2006
Location: In a residence hall
Summary: Last week Public Safety received a report from a female student alleging she had been sexually assaulted by an acquaintance that she identified as a male USD student.   The alleged sexual assault was reported to have occurred in the male student’s residence room.  It was reported that alcohol was considered to have been a factor in the case.  The female student declined the opportunity to report this incident to the San Diego Police Department.  The case is currently under investigation by USD Public Safety and has been referred to the Dean of Students office for adjudication.
