Summary: At approximately 2038 Public Safety responded to a report of a wallet stolen from a resident hall room between 1500 and 1900 on 3/31/2006. The door to the room was reported to have been left open. The individual was advised to immediately contact her credit card companies and SDPD to report the theft. She was also advised to always secure her resident hall room.

Summary: At approximately 0113 Public Safety stopped a pickup truck with nine passengers inside the cab. Upon investigation, open alcohol containers were found in the vehicle. The passengers of the vehicle fled the scene and although the driver had not been drinking, he was cited for Minor in Possession and Possession of an open container in a vehicle.

Location: BIKE RACKS-AV AREA
Summary: At approximately 1425 Public Safety responded to a report of bicycles being stolen from a campus bike storage area. There were approximately 10 to 12 individuals attempting to steal several bicycles from the secured storage area. The individuals fled the campus, riding the stolen bicycles west bound on Linda Vista. Upon investigation and pursuit by Public Safety Officers, and in conjunction with SDPD, the suspects were located and four individuals were taken into custody by SDPD.

Summary: At approximately 0858 Public Safety responded to a report of vandalism and theft from a resident hall room that occurred between 1530 on 4/12/2006 and 2330 on 4/17/2006. Upon investigation the room was determined to have been secured and the lock was not damaged. One hundred dollars in cash was taken from a desk drawer, the closet door was found removed from the hinges, a tool kit was left in the room and newspaper had been stuffed in the resident’s clothing and placed in the bed. The resident was advised to also file a report with SDPD. Anyone having information on this incident is asked to contact Public Safety immediately.

Summary: At approximately 1425 Public Safety responded to a report of a vehicle that had been broken into between 0800 on 4/13/2006 and 1400 on 4/18/2006. Upon investigation no damage was found on the vehicle and it appeared to have been entered by the use of a Slim Jim. Approximately six hundred dollars in valuables were taken from the vehicle including an IPod and a tail light cover. The student was advised to also file a report with SDPD.

Summary: At approximately 1937 Public Safety observed two individuals carrying gift bags and running in the opposite direction once they sighted the officers. Upon investigation the individuals were seen handing out flyers in the resident hall and were contacted by officers. Both individuals were students and one voluntarily surrendered a knife which he was carrying. The students were advised of the University policies regarding flyers and weapons on campus.

Summary: At approximately 0429 Public Safety responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress. The individual was described as a male juvenile wearing a red shirt and carrying a black backpack. Upon investigation the door to the bike rack was found propped open by a bicycle that was lying on the ground and a cut chain was found on the ground inside the bike rack. The suspect described by the reporting party was no longer in the area and his description was given to SDPD.
