Summary: At approximately 1106 Public Safety responded to a report of three university fountains that had been vandalized.  Upon investigation it was determined that soap had been put in the fountains. Summary: At approximately 1823 Public Safety responded to a report of an intoxicated individual creating a disturbance in Bert’s Bistro.  Upon investigation the individual was contacted, identified as a student and voluntarily transported to detox (BAC .159). While in route to detox the individual became uncooperative and began yelling profanities at the officer.  The individual was no longer a candidate for detox and SDPD was contacted. The individual was arrested for being drunk in public.

Summary: On April 04, 2008 at approximately 11:33 p.m., a hate crime was reported to USD’s Department of Public Safety. The incident involved a bias-related statement which had been written on a photo posted on the door of a San Rafael residence hall unit in permanent marker. It is unknown what time the incident occurred.  Public Safety Officers took photos of the posting and is investigating the crime.  Anyone with knowledge of the incident is encouraged to contact the Department of Public Safety at (619)260-7777.

Summary: On April 07, 2008 at approximately 9:30 a.m., a hate crime was reported to USD’s Department of Public Safety. The incident involved bias-related statements which were written on a bulletin board located adjacent to the Multicultural Center in the University Center. The incident is believed to have occurred between April 4 and April 7, 2008. Summary: At approximately 0716 Public Safety responded to a report of a suspicious individual who had been seen looking into classroom windows and taking a bicycle from a campus bike rack. Upon investigation the individual was contacted and identified as a non student that was on campus visiting a resident student. Upon further investigation the individual was found to be in possession of two small knives, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a bicycle that was taken from a campus bike rack. SDPD was called to the scene and the individual was cited and escorted off campus.

Summary: At approximately 0257 Public Safety responded to a report of a vehicle driving recklessly on campus. Upon investigation the vehicle was found in a campus parking garage. The owner of the vehicle, a commuter student, and a resident student were also in the area. Both students were found to be under the influence of alcohol (BAC .271 and BAC .20). Both students were voluntarily transported to detox but rejected upon arrival. One of the students indicated a medical concern and was transported to the hospital by paramedics.
