Early Arrival Requests
Requests for Fall 2013 Early Arrivals are subject to approval, pending space availability. If you are approved for an early arrival, there is a $65 per night fee, for each day you are on campus before your contract start date (August 19th for law students, August 31st for newfreshmen and transfers, and September 2nd for returning and graduate students).
To submit a request for an early arrival, please send an email with your name, ID number, and brief explanation of your extenuating circumstances to housing@sandiego.edu. We will do our best to respond to your email within 5 business days.
Any requests submitted after August 12th for law students and August 26th for freshmen, undergraduate, and graduate students are subject to an additional $65 late request fee, as per the Residential Life Terms and Conditions.
Students who are members of a team orClub that requires early check-in should contact their coach or group advisor for more information. Early arrival charges may still apply for these student groups
New Fall 2013 Freshman and Transfer Students Campus Housing Information
Make your commitment deposits as early as possible after being admitted to establish campus housing priority. The online new student 2013 - 2014 housing application will be available Tuesday, May 7th. Incoming freshmen please note that all four first-year areas will be home to our Living Learning Community (LLC) program. Please visit our LLC Page for more information.
New Fall 2013 Law and Graduate Students Campus Housing Information
Graduate and Law housing is very limited and priority will be based upon the date when the $250 non-refundable prepayment is submitted. Graduate and law students must also complete an online housing application. Please contact the Department of Residential Life regarding any housing questions you may have by sending an email to housing@sandiego.edu or call (619) 260-4777. Fall 2013 Occupancy Period
New Incoming Freshmen
The fall semester occupancy period for new incoming freshmen is Saturday, August 31, 2013 to 12 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2013 or twenty-four hours after the resident's last examination (whichever comes earlier). Specific move-in times for Saturday, August 31 will be sent to each new freshman resident in August.
New Incoming Transfers
The fall semester occupancy period for new incoming transfer students in non-continuous occupancy is Saturday, August 31, 2013 to 12 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2013 or twenty-four hours after the resident's last examination (whichever comes earlier). For those in continuous occupancy residence halls, the occupancy period is Saturday August 31, 2013 to noon on Friday, May 23, 2014. Specific move-in times for Saturday, August 31 will be sent to each new transfer resident in August.
Undergraduates (Returning)
The fall semester occupancy period for returning undergraduates in non-continuous occupancy is 10 am on Monday, September 2, 2013 to 12 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2013 or twenty-four hours after the resident’s last examination (whichever comes earlier). For those in continuous occupancy, the academic year occupancy period begins 10 am on Monday September 2, 2013 and ends at noon on Friday, May 23, 2014.
Graduate Students
The academic year occupancy period for graduate student residents living in Presidio Terrace and Manchester Village provides for continuous occupancy from 10 am on Monday, September 2, 2012 through noon on Friday, May 23, 2014.
Law Students
The academic year occupancy period for law student residents living in Presidio Terrace and Manchester Village provides for continuous occupancy from 10 am on Monday, August 19, 2013 through noon on Sunday, May 18, 2014.
Continuous Occupancy
Continuous occupancy (including Christmas Break, Intersession and Spring Break) is available at no additional expense only for those residents in the San Antonio de Padua, Presidio Terrace, University Terrace Apartments and Manchester Village who fulfill the full 2013-2014 academic year Agreement. Any resident who does not fulfill the full 2013-2014 academic year agreement shall pay the room fees established for those periods and paid by residents in other campus housing buildings.
Fall 2012 Rates*
There has been no increase for double occupancy rooms in the 2012-2013 Housing Rates.
* Room rates for 2013-14 will be available the week of February 11th
